From Bishopton to Bollywood. Competition.

I missed blogging last night because I was teaching at my bellydance class. We are a group of 15 French and British who meet in a tiny village hall on tuesday nights.

We started in 2005 and have now become good enough for public performance. Last year we danced at a wedding, a twinned town meal for international delegates, the opening of a renovated bread oven (dancing in the street for this one) and a Saint Johns fire party.

I teach the class voluntarily - we make our costumes where possible and have another huge stash of shiny, sparkly and jingly materials, beads and jewellery.

This term we are learning Bollywood which is so much fun, but very fast. It is a good thing to learn in the winter, I'm not sure how it will be to dance in full costume in the full heat of French summer.

The Bollywood theme inspired me to make an etsy expats treasury here
