Tortillas.

Evening, or morning depending where in the world you are.  Please feel free to enter my competition and have you chance to win a tunic like THIS

JuanitaTortilla is a brilliant name for a shop and has some brilliant products too.

Juanita is based in Switzerland and says - 'Juanita is my name. Tortilla rhymes with it, I was told. And so it is: Juanita Tortilla.

I love to re-use and re-purpose materials, and transform them into unique and affordable Jewellery, Accessories, and Bags. My items are made from spur of the moment, so they are my one-of-a-kind unique babies.

As of 2009, the aim of Juanita Tortilla is to reduce new waste, and to work with resources that are already available to us.'

If I had one of these phones, I would buy this

Also my eye was drawn by this

From Bishopton to Bollywood. Competition.

I missed blogging last night because I was teaching at my bellydance class. We are a group of 15 French and British who meet in a tiny village hall on tuesday nights.

We started in 2005 and have now become good enough for public performance. Last year we danced at a wedding, a twinned town meal for international delegates, the opening of a renovated bread oven (dancing in the street for this one) and a Saint Johns fire party.

I teach the class voluntarily - we make our costumes where possible and have another huge stash of shiny, sparkly and jingly materials, beads and jewellery.

This term we are learning Bollywood which is so much fun, but very fast. It is a good thing to learn in the winter, I'm not sure how it will be to dance in full costume in the full heat of French summer.

The Bollywood theme inspired me to make an etsy expats treasury here

France, cafe au lait, croissants and Clermont Ferrand

Victoria and Trevor cowan  are based in Clermont Ferrand, here in tranquil France. Their shop is Ancienesthetic.

I love Limoges pottery and was pleased to find this pretty piece in their shop.

Limoges is not very far away from me and the pottery is famous worldwide and very collectible.

This vintage scarf is very typically French for me and shouts PARIS. I worked for a while near Geneva and my friend and I sat in a cafe, people watching on our days off. We loved seeing the Ladies out shopping in their fur coats, with matching poodles under their arms and chic scarves around their necks, just like this.

French lace is so delicate. Having seen demonstrations at local Vide-greniers I was amazed and in awe of the amount of time it takes to make one square inch of lace.  Our elderly neighbour made lace as her hobby. Her pieces are beautiful and reflect many hours of patient work and concentration.

Here are some of Ancienesthetiques precious pieces.

My competition is still open, all you need to enter is send a photo of an 'Extreme Stash' and a short description.  Open to all. Win a shirt like this.
